Our Values

Safety ~ Respect and Honesty ~ Empowerment ~ Exceptional Training ~ Social

Safety

Picture
Safety is our number one priority to our students, ensuring that they train safely and intelligently.  We promise to teach correct technique on every move, as well as teaching students proper spotting techniques so that they can help one another when an instructor is not at their immediate side. Instructors will be kept up to date with their training and will know the correct way to teach and spot every move they teach.

In addition to this, we promise reliability and dedication to our students.  Students should feel confident that their instructors know their craft inside and out and that all of their questions will either be answered or that external sources will be sought out in order to answer those questions.

Respect and Honesty

We want our students to be learning in a friendly and supportive environment at all time. Because of this, we encourage open communication between students and staff.  Instructors are always open to new ideas and constructive criticism and are happy to work alongside students to make Reading Pole Arts the best pole fitness institution possible. For this reason, we kindly ask that our students hold our instructors accountable to be fair in their judgments, to be respectful in their interactions and to build a relationship with the students. After all, this is more than just a fitness class!

Empowerment

Picture
We believe that pole fitness should be about building confidence, not only in how you look, but also in how you feel about yourself. This doesn’t necessarily need to be based on outward appearance, but more so on an internal acceptance of your body, mind and general personhood.

Along with this, we believe that body acceptance is hugely important. We want students, no matter their size and shape, to be comfortable in the clothes required for pole fitness and to know that their body is beautiful! We want them to love their skinny legs or non-existent thigh gap, their stretch marks, their uneven skin tone and everything that goes along with their perfect body!

We also believe in empowerment through giving back to the community. We will be hosting regular opportunities to volunteer with different charities in the local Berkshire area. We will again be hosting our annual Charity Pole-a-thon to raise money for Berkshire Women's Aid, with new and exciting donors and workshop volunteers who are leaders in the pole community!

Exceptional Training

Picture
It is our mission to provide a comprehensive, well-rounded fitness class each and every time you step into the studio. This means that you will receive a proper warm up that will prepare your body for the class ahead, lesson plans that challenge and motivate you and a cool down that leaves you in your rested state, with your body able to recuperate from the physical activity.

This also means that you will receive exceptional instruction from exceptional instructors. We endeavour to continue our pole fitness education right alongside our students! We will be regularly be attending training courses and workshops from experts in the pole fitness industry, enabling us to pass along their expertise to our students. We also encourage students to participate in workshops and pole events that are not hosted by our own studio. It is so important to learn by different instructors so that you have as much information in your arsenal to become the best you can be. Whenever possible, we will encourage students to attend outside events.

Because pole fitness is an ever-changing and evolving sport, we also commit to progressive training. Your instructors will be on top of the trends and new developments in pole fitness so that you receive the most up-to-date training  and safety information available.

Social

Picture
We don’t want our classes to be the kind that you come to, don’t speak to anyone and then leave. Pole fitness is about supporting and encouraging your sisters-in-pole and we want our students to make lasting friendships. We want them to support each other and motivate one another and the instructors will help facilitate this as well.

Secondly, we want our classes to be fun! Pole fitness shouldn’t be one of those fitness classes that you don’t enjoy doing but do anyway because you know it’s good for you. We want our students to come to class because they enjoy themselves and others around them.

RPA organises multiple outings each year, whether that be celebrating someone's birthday or a massive pole event like Pole World Festival. Join our Facebook group to be kept up to date on all of our plans!
